And so much more...

Other notable places to visit during your stay include Assisi, Monterchi, Spoleto, Arezzo, Rome and all the places in between. It is possible to be in Florence or Sienna within 2 hours on a day trip, with enough time to be back to watch the sunset from the terrace at Il Monte.

San Marino is a mountainous microstate surrounded by north-central Italy. Among the world’s oldest republics, it retains much of its historic architecture. On the slopes of Monte Titano sits the capital, also called San Marino, known for its medieval walled old town and narrow cobblestone streets. The Three Towers, castlelike citadels dating to the 11th century, sit atop Titano’s neighboring peaks.

Well worth a trip out to this amazing place, lots of places to eat - head to the top. Bar La Capanna has great views and not expensive. Many museums as well as the castles. Easy parking with lifts up.

Important Information

Il Monte is a former medieval watchtower, retaining most of its original features, including a very rare barrel-vaulted ceiling in the tower and a bread oven. This previously derelict building underwent a huge sympathetic renovation to offer an amazing and unique family home.
