A delightful Umbrian medieval hill top village which has been perfectly preserved. There you will find most conveniences locally, with two good supermarkets selling quality local produce including locally found truffle products. There are banks with ATM, the Post Office, numerous friendly bars, good restaurants, excellent bakery, fresh pasta shop which must be tried and much more, well worth exploring. Visit the Friday market in the piazza for a taste of Italian rural life.
Designated one of Italy's "Prettiest Small Towns" and home to Umbria Film Festival (August) and several highly recommended restaurants.
Its Colle Eletto cable car climbs to Mount Ingino, with the 5-naved Sant’Ubaldo Basilica and views of the Apennine Mountains. In town, Gubbio Cathedral contains 16th-Century paintings and a baroque chapel. Inside the Gothic Consoli Palace, with its crenellated top, is the Civic Museum. Displays here include the Iguvine Tablets, 7 bronze slabs with ancient inscriptions.
Citta di Castello
A lovely old walled city on the slopes of the Apennines. The town boasts a beautiful historic centre with fascinating museums. Visit the stunning Fontecchio Baths, and dine in some wonderful local restaurants. Also, don't miss the White Truffle Fair in Autumn!
Artistic, youthful, cultural and home to Umbria Jazz (July) and our closest airport. It is the capital of Umbria, rich in cultural heritage, there's so much to see in this amazing city.

Other notable places to visit during your stay include Assisi, Monterchi, Spoleto, Arezzo, Rome and all the places in between. It is possible to be in Florence or Sienna within 2 hours on a day trip, with enough time to be back to watch the sunset from the terrace at Il Monte.
